Smarter, better, and stronger, seamlessly blending innovation.
Multiple tests can be performed on the Excalibur Sport:
Wingate sprint test
The Wingate sprint test is a measure of anaerobic power and capacity. It involves a 30-second all-out effort on the Excalibur against a set resistance. The test measures peak power output, mean power output, and fatigue index among other things. It is often used in sports that require short, high-intensity efforts from sprinting to powerlifting.
Isokinetic tests
Isokinetic testing is a type of muscle strength assessment that measures the maximum force that a muscle can produce. This test is typically performed with a specialized machine, like the Excalibur Sport that controls the speed and resistance of movement. Isokinetic testing is commonly used in sports medicine to evaluate and monitor muscle strength and imbalances.
High-Intensity Tests (HIT)
High-Intensity Testing (HIT) is a form of exercise testing that involves repeated high-intensity efforts over short periods of time. It is commonly used to assess an individual’s anaerobic capacity and endurance. HIT may involve repeated sprints, shuttle runs, or other high-intensity exercises. HIT protocols can also be performed on the Excalibur Sport.
Time trials
A time trial is a performance test in which an athlete competes against the clock to complete a set distance in the shortest possible time. Time trials are commonly used in endurance sports such as cycling, running, and rowing to assess an athlete’s aerobic capacity and fitness level.
Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET)
CPET testing is a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s cardiorespiratory fitness. It involves measuring the individual’s oxygen consumption (VO2), carbon dioxide production, heart rate, and other physiological responses during exercise. CPET testing is commonly used in sports medicine, rehabilitation, and research to evaluate an individual’s exercise capacity, identify any underlying medical conditions, and develop personalized training programs.
Extreme workload range of 10 - 3000 watt
This extraordinary peak workload is extremely suitable for sports medicine and testing the strongest athletes on their anaerobic power or isokinetic capacity. Combined with the low start workload of 10 Watt this ergometer will fit everybody.
Suitable for all types of athletes
All types of athletes can be tested on this ergometer. The ergometer can be used for various tests, like e.g. Wingate, Isokinetic, HIT and time trials. Moreover CPET testing is possible.
Extreme adjustability
Both the saddle and the handlebar can be adjusted horizontally and vertically using the control unit.
Exchangeable accessories
The pedals, handlebar and saddle can easily be exchanged by the test subjects own accessories to test as realistic as possible, or to optimize the circumstances.
Heavy Duty Design
The Excalibur Sport is designed for heavy duty sports medicine ergometry, without doing any concession on the esthetic, modern and robust design. In other words: Excalibur Sport: the gold standard in Ergometry!
